When the results came out for the February Texas Bar Exam I learned I passed! Thank you so much for helping me pass on my first attempt! I scored an overall score of 777 - only 675 is needed to pass in Texas – and my Multistate Bar Exam (MBE) score was 166.4, a score that is in the top 1 or 2 percent in the country! As you predicted, I had plenty of points to spare!

As you may recall, I previously prepared for an earlier Bar Exam attempt using both PMBR and BarBri. I then became ill and could not sit for that exam. When I regained my health I selected Reed Bar Review's individualized tutoring for my second attempt at preparation. What a world of difference! In fact my first diagnostic MBE with those programs, I only scored a 115.

You did a remarkable job preparing me in light of my being an unusual student. As a practicing real estate executive, my hours were less flexible. You and your staff were amazingly available - six days/week from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. In contrast, I felt like I couldn't get BarBri Texas (or PMBR for that matter) to give me any attention or concessions without having to make several attempts and consequently being "surcharged" for the service. More importantly, it appeared to me as though the other preparatory programs flooded me with volumes of irrelevant material, some of which was prepared by people who had not themselves taken the Bar exam in years or had never even taken the Multistate Bar Exam. I found this information overload to be counterproductive - too much information and not enough application. You, on the other hand, presented me with a digestible amount of material that represented mostly topics that had high probabilities of being tested. This focused approach, combined with your memorization techniques and continuous evaluation of my work product, made Bar preparation enjoyable...well...almost enjoyable. At the very least I appeared far less "stressed out" than my peers who chose the other programs. Focus is everything when it comes to the Bar exam. There is no time to waste on frivolous academic pursuits. Thank you for narrowing my focus to the task at hand and making my life much easier.

You have my permission to show this letter to others who may be shopping around for Bar preparation services. To them I would say that after spending all those years (and all that money) in law school, it would be a catastrophe to be denied a "ticket" to practice law, at the last second, because of a poor choice regarding Bar preparation programs. My choice, using the benefit of hindsight, is Reed Bar Review. I would not choose the others. Indeed, I'm using your services again to prepare for another jurisdiction's exam this time around.

P.S. I used your services again to prepare for the South Dakota bar exam. Of course, I passed!

I passed the Michigan bar exam  on my first try after struggling through law school -- I am not good at taking tests and was petrified of failing the bar.  I opted for Reed Bar Review over Bar/Bri because of its method and its mentor:  Hugh Reed has taken around 30 bar exams and is a member of numerous states and territories by continuously taking bar exams.  HE KNOWS WHAT IS TESTED AND HOW TO PREPARE FOR THIS FINAL HURDLE.

After spending 20 plus years of my life in a classroom, the thought of studying for the biggest exam of my school-life in a classroom did not motivate me or intrigue me much at all.  I learned about Reed Bar Review from a classmate and loved the idea of studying for the bar exam from any location in the country!  I graduated from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in January, and decided not to take the February bar exam.  I learned that Reed Bar Review allowed students to begin their studies from 5 months before the exam time.  That was a route I definitely wished to take.  Part of studying for the ‘beast’ is to fully understand yourself and your ways of studying and to know if you can be disciplined enough to study from home, as opposed to going to class.  I personally wanted as much time as I could take to mentally and physically prepare for the bar.  This would lead me on the path to passing the first time. I worked for over a year and half trying to pass the bar exam.  I watched friends and colleagues from law school pass and go onto exciting new jobs in the law.  It was frustrating beyond belief.  How could I have failed, not once but twice?  I might not have graduated at the top of my class, but I was a member of moot court and I brought back decent grades at a fine law school with first rate professors.  To top it all off, I came within two measly points of passing on the second try, so as you can imagine I was the epitome of exasperation.

Then, as I was coming out of Wyndam Hotel in Chicago, fresh from another one of those ungodly torture sessions where you go over your failed essays, and someone handed me a packet of information on this program.  To be certain, I was very skeptical at first.  After seeing my parents shell out thousands of dollars for BARBRI and Kaplan I said to myself, “Oh great, here’s another outfit selling magic beans.”  To my immense satisfaction, I soon discovered that I was wrong.  Hugh Reed and the people working for him are different than the rest.  To borrow a saying from Hugh’s first profession: the people at Reed Law Group are like generals who really do know what it’s like to fight in a fox hole.

They don’t just hand out a bunch of outlines with orders of “go read.”  The people working at this program actually do care whether you pass or fail because they make it their business to see that you do.  The two most important advantages to this program are the personal attention you receive and MBE training, at least that’s what counted for me.  The coaches and staff have taken the bar numerous times, they know what to prepare you for and how to do it.  Plus, the one-on-one coaching helps you get a sense of how you are progressing in your preparation.

When I was doubting myself, which I would often do, because I am very hard on myself, you told me that I was fine, and I was ahead of schedule. The thousands of MBE questions that we had at our fingertips was great for me because I am not the best at multiple choice. I ended up scoring a 157.7 scaled on the MBE!!! I just wanted to let you know that thanks to Reed Bar Review, I passed the Texas Bar exam on my first try, and I owe it all to you, your staff and my fabulous attorney-coach.
 
While it is a significant accomplishment to pass the bar, to me, this is monumental for a few reasons.  First, I did not attend law school in Texas so I was starting out behind the curve when I signed up for the course.  Second, I had been out of law school for a year before signing up for a review course so that "study, study, study" mode was something I had to ramp up for again.  Finally, during the review my husband's work schedule was insane and I had a four year old who needed as much attention as my bar review work.  
 
That said, it is a true testament to how effective your program is, if someone like me, with multiple obstacles can conquer the exam the first time.  I was hours away from signing up with BarBri when your flyer came in the mail.  Your program was exactly what I needed, streamlined and to the point.  I didn't need 15 books and an endless class schedule that was sure to be sleep inducing.  
 
And to anyone who thinks that the program is too streamlined and they may be missing something by not having 15 books and in person classes, I would tell them that is not the case at all.  I knew nothing of Texas law and with your materials was able to get everything I needed to pass the test.  The on-line practice tests were invaluable, being able to listen to lectures on my own schedule and the assigned homework really kept me on track.  
 
Most of all, the personal attention from my attorney coach was something BarBri just can't match.  Michelle DeLotto is my hero.  She gave me a plan and made sure I kept on track.  She was my cheerleader when I needed it and my sounding board when I thought I was going to crack.  To me, it was more like having a really smart friend to help me through the review process than a teacher, because she was just so easy to work with.

My first run at the Illinois bar exam rewarded countless nights of cramming with one point short of a passing grade. It was a terrible combination: passive lecture in the morning followed by 8-10 hours of work during the day and studying 100+ page outlines written in small print at night. I set myself up for failure (and wasn't the only one!).
 
Your program isn't a study course but a battle plan. Your attorneys assessed my weaknesses, catalogued my strengths, and exploited things that needed to be improved upon while coaching me the entire way. Your no-BS approach relentlessly drives for measurable results based on trial and correction. Your checklists and mnemonics cut my analyzation and response time dramatically. The end of every exam session left me with a solid 25 to 30 minutes to stare at the walls and think about lunch. The feedback and coaching closed the deal for me: you can't fix something if you don't know you're doing it wrong! I made the mistake of saying "hello" to the property lecturer from that other program and was rewarded with "no questions!" for a response. I wonder if he knows he's lecturing on bad law that was actually tested on the Feb 08 exam? Good luck asking him (or any other one of those lecturers) a question.
 
My MBE score this round allowed me to apply to DC on motion instead of sitting for another exam and my name was just placed on the U.S. Federal Tax Court roll of attorneys. I demanded results and your program produced them. Go hard or go home! Hoorah, Hugh!

The subject program allowed me to pass the Alabama Bar Examination on the first try. I highly recommend the five month small class tutorial program for all bar applicants as a method to significantly enhance the probability of your passing the Bar. This program allows the student to thoroughly cover all topics and practice answering all types of multiple choice and essay questions that have been tested on past recent examinations. Attorney-coaches provide feedback and helpful suggestions to enhance your study and examination practice efforts. The study materials and copies of past examinations with appropriate answers are provided, and the student does not have to spend critical study time researching and organizing the documents that should be reviewed. Key legal elements are highlighted in the program by the use of mnemonic and acrostic memory aids.

My personal review for the Bar Examination required emphasis on the essay sections. The subject program allowed for this emphasis, provided attorney-coach feedback on my essays, provided suggested methods to best answer essay questions, and allowed for significant practice in answering a multitude of essay questions. Critical issues and rules of law were reviewed. I personally believe that review of just MBE multiple-choice questions and topics is not sufficient to adequately prepare for the essay examinations. An essay strategy must be included in your study program, and I highly recommend the Reed Law Group's approach.

In summary, on the day that I finished the examination, I felt that I had passed. Further, when I received the actual results, I passed on the first try by my achieving a score 10% higher than required on both the multiple-choice (MBE) and essay (MEE) sections of the Bar Examination . The Reed Bar Review's approach that I followed during the five months prior to the examination was instrumental in my results and I highly recommend their program to future Bar candidates.

I normally would not want to publicize the fact that I failed the Texas bar exam numerous times, but now that I have passed I am so relieved and feel the need to share my news and let everyone know the easy way to pass the bar.

I never thought that I would use the word "easy" and "bar exam" in the same sentence, but Hugh Reed really makes it much easier than anyone else out there.

Thank you so much. I passed the Virginia Bar Exam. This was my fifth attempt so I really needed to pass. Previously I used BAR/BRI, PMBR, MicroMash and Study Group to no avail. Thank you for helping me pass the Illinois bar exam. I could not have done it with out your help!! The previous bar exam that I took last July I missed passing by 33 points. I tried all the other bar exam courses and was never even close to passing. I found that their materials and techniques for passing the bar were outdated. What your course did for me was break down the material into a simple form, by giving great legal definitions and examples. The most helpful part of the course was the MBE test tactics because they directed me to the right answer choice and kept me away from the sucker choices. These tactics increased my MBE score by 20 points.

Everyone has their little obstacles in life, and mine was the Bar exam. I had excelled in law school, but the Bar was a mountain I could not climb. I had taken all of the other prep courses, memorized their outlines and answered hundreds of their model questions, but when the Bar came around, I always felt lost. More often than not I was confronted with questions that I had no idea how to answer. The result was that I guessed my way through most of the exam and left the room with that sinking feeling of failure. I dreaded the days leading up to the posting of the results because I knew that I most likely was not going to be on the "Pass List."

But all of that changed after using Hugh's methods. Forget about wasting an entire day in a conference room listening to some instructor bore you to tears with every little detail of the subject matter being discussed. Instead, Hugh schedules short conference calls for each topic. In less than 90 minutes, he clearly explains all that you need to know for that particular subject. Not only that, but Hugh teaches you how to answer the questions. He helps you determine your weaknesses and then schedules personal one-on-one calls to help you understand those troublesome areas. When I walked out of the exam after the final day, I was very confident that I had knocked the cover off of the ball. I was so sure that I had passed that I didn't even bother searching the state supreme court's website for the posting of the "Pass List." It was very anti-climactic when it became official that I had passed because I knew I had passed the day I walked out of the exam. I know that my recollections sound very corny, but it is all true. I cannot say enough about Hugh's course. If you do what he tells you to do and study responsibly, there is no reason that you will not pass the Bar. Then you can finally get on with your life.

Dear Mr. Reed,

I'm still floating on cloud 9 right now and I intend to continue celebrating for the next couple of weeks this unbelievable achievement of passing the tough California Bar Exams. It's definitely a dream come true.

I took the bar more than 5 times but only used Reed's materials on the last exam. I actually heard about Reed's from a guy who passed the bar who said that his Multistate raw score went up by 20 points !!! Since my raw scores were always in the high 120's to the low 130's every time I took the exam using BAR/BRI and PMBR, I said that I had nothing to lose by trying Reed's. I also knew that in order to pass; I needed a raw score of at least 140. When I received the Reed Bar Review materials, I knew that they were more concise and much better than any I had used before.. I subsequently scored a raw score of 138, my highest score yet using Reed's for the first time.

During the actual Multistate Exam, I knew that I was nailing those questions and that there was no doubt in my mind that I scored in the 140's or even in the 150's scaled score (MBE scores are not released in California if you pass) or at least, enough points to carry my written portion score to give me a final passing grade.

So that's it !!! My Reed's experience and no more bar to worry about.
